Un téléidoscope est une sorte de kaléidoscope, avec une lentille et une vue ouverte, il peut donc être utilisé pour former des motifs kaléidoscopiques à partir d'objets extérieurs. La lentille située à l'extrémité du tube est une boule sphérique. L'avantage d'utiliser une sphère est qu'elle ne s'appuie pas à plat sur l'objet observé.
